SENATE MEMORIAL 31
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 2, between lines 10 and 11, insert:
"WHEREAS, acequias and community ditches are some of the oldest democracies in North America, and they are a model for community engagement in local government and water stewardship; and".
2. On page 3, line 8, after "stakeholders", insert ", including the New Mexico acequia association, acequia commission, land grant council and New Mexico land grant consejo,".
3. On page 3, line 12, after "grants", insert ", integrating acequias and land grants into multicultural curriculum development".
4. On page 3, strike lines 13 through 18 in their entirety.
