AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT A THREE-YEAR SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION PILOT PROJECT FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS STATEWIDE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the public education reform fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal years 2021 through 2023 to create and implement an evidence-based social, emotional and mental health and educational intervention pilot project for public schools statewide, with a focus on at-risk students. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the public education reform fund.
