    Your HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 539

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 4, lines 4 through 7, strike "a code of ethics and rules adopted by the board, designed to protect the public and to regulate the professional conduct of social workers" and insert in lieu thereof "a code of ethics or professional standards promulgated by a national organization of social work professionals that provides guidance, research, advocacy and other services to social workers".

     2. On page 10, line 16, remove the bracket and line-through.

     3. On page 10, line 16, after "a", insert "current" and after "ethics", insert "or professional standards promulgated by a national organization of social work professionals that provides guidance, research, advocacy and other services to social workers".

     4. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
