Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE BILL 330
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 16, before the period, insert "; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY".
2. On page 1, line 25, after the subsection designation "B.", strike the remainder of the line, on page 2, strike line 1 through "a" and insert in lieu thereof "A".
3. On page 2, line 2, after the second occurrence of "officer", insert "who is or will be assigned as a school resource officer".
4. On page 3, between lines 5 and 6, insert the following new subsection:
"C. Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, a law enforcement officer who:
(1) is assigned as a school resource officer shall complete the training required in Subsection B of this section within nine months of being assigned as a school resource officer; and
(2) was serving as a school resource officer prior to the 2020-2021 school year and who has not received specific training for the position of school resource officer shall complete the training required in Subsection B of this section no later than April 1, 2021.".
5. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.
6. On page 5, line 5, strike ", school district".
7. On page 8, between lines 15 and 16, insert the following new section:
"SECTION 6. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.".
