AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO PLAN, DESIGN AND RESTRUCTURE OR RECONSTRUCT A PORTION OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 380 TO ALLOW USE BY SHIPPING TRUCKS IN EXCESS OF SIXTY-FIVE FEET.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of transportation for expenditure in fiscal years 2020 through 2025 to plan, design and restructure or reconstruct United States highway 380 between the town of Carrizozo and Hondo to allow freight shipping trucks in excess of sixty-five feet to use the highway. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
