AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOOD AND AGRICULTURE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING GRANTS TO SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE NEW MEXICO STUDENTS ABOUT FOOD AND AGRICULTURE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 and subsequent fiscal years for the New Mexico department of agriculture to provide food and agriculture education and experiential learning grants to school programs to educate New Mexico students about food and agriculture. Funds may be used by grantees for materials, supplies and up to fifty percent of staff salaries. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
