AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN INDEPENDENT AUDIT AND REPORT OF STATE AGENCY COMPLIANCE WITH THE SUNSHINE PORTAL TRANSPARENCY ACT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state auditor for expenditure in fiscal year 2019 to enter into a contract with an independent third party to review compliance of legislative, executive and judicial agencies with the Sunshine Portal Transparency Act and produce a report of its findings. The report shall be provided to the New Mexico legislative council, the governor and the supreme court and shall be published on the sunshine portal and on websites maintained by the New Mexico legislature and the New Mexico supreme court. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2019 shall revert to the general fund.
