A RESOLUTION
AMENDING THE RULES OF THE HOUSE TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUAL ENGROSSING OF LEGISLATION.
WHEREAS, House Rule 24-1 provides that the rules of the house may be amended by a two-thirds' vote of the members of the house or by a majority vote of the members of the house upon recommendation of the house rules and order of business committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that a new House Rule 11-22-5 be adopted to read:
"11-22-5 Upon adoption of a committee report recommending amendments to a bill, memorial or resolution, the chief clerk shall create and cause to be posted on the legislative website a document with the amendments incorporated into its text. The document shall make clear which text is original and which is language added or struck by amendment.".
