AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE START-UP FUNDING FOR THE ESPANOLA PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT, FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES SEVEN THROUGH TWELVE, PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICE PROVIDERS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to provide start-up funding for the Espanola public school district to develop and implement community-based partnerships that provide services such as counseling and life and job skills training for Espanola public school district students in grades seven through twelve. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
