AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO PROVIDE SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE CRISIS CENTER SERVICES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to contract with sexual assault and rape crisis service centers to provide trauma-informed counseling to victims of sexual assault and rape. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
