    Your WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 285

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, between lines 21 and 22, insert:

          "A. "anthropogenic carbon dioxide" means that portion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that is produced directly by human activities, including the burning of fossil fuels;".

     2. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.

     3. On page 7, line 13, strike "application" and insert in lieu thereof "injection".

     4. On page 8, line 1, strike "application" and insert in lieu thereof "injection".

     5. On page 8, line 3, strike "one and seven-eighths percent" and insert in lieu thereof "the following percentages".

     6. On page 8, line 10, strike the semicolon and insert in lieu thereof a colon.

     7. On page 8, between lines 10 and 11, insert:

                     "(a) two and three-fourths percent if twenty-five to fifty percent of the total amount of carbon dioxide injected during the taxable period consists of anthropogenic carbon dioxide; and

                     (b) one and three-fourths percent if more than fifty percent of the total amount of carbon dioxide injected during the taxable period consists of anthropogenic carbon dioxide;".
