AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A WORKFORCE NEEDS ANALYSIS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 to develop and implement a workforce gap forecasting model that will identify on a statewide basis: the numbers and types of jobs that are most likely to be available in the future; the skills, knowledge and experience that those jobs will require; the education and training currently being delivered; and the corresponding deficiencies in meeting current and future workforce demands. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
