A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING MARCH 12, 2015 "NEW MEXICO SNOW PLOW DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY" IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

 

     WHEREAS, removing snow and ice from New Mexico highways during the winter months is a critical task; and

     WHEREAS, eight hundred ten snow plow drivers maintain almost thirty thousand miles of state highways, according to the department of transportation; and

     WHEREAS, residents depend on snow plow drivers, who work long hours under adverse conditions, to help ensure that drivers can travel to their jobs, schools, medical appointments and recreational destinations; and

     WHEREAS, before, during and after winter storms, snow plow drivers use their years of knowledge, skill and experience in a determined effort to make roadways safer for motorists;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that March 12, 2015 be proclaimed "New Mexico Snow Plow Driver Appreciation Day" in the house of representatives; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the secretary of transportation.
