AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR RESEARCH OF WELLS IN RURAL AREAS OF TRIBAL LANDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred four thousand five hundred dollars ($404,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 for researching the types of well pumping technology used, the depth of wells and the water levels and quality in wells in rural areas of tribal lands in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
