AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE BRAIN EDUCATION ADVANCED LEARNING TRAINING PILOT PROJECT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to conduct a professional development pilot project to train public school teachers on a statewide basis in "brain education", an innovative educational program for holistically meeting students' emotional and cognitive needs and improving students' investment in the school system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
