AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE THE SYSTEM OF TEMPORARY CARE AND HOUSING OF ANIMALS OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to enhance the system of temporary care and housing of animals of victims of domestic violence. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
