AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN ACTUARIAL STUDY OF RETURN-TO-WORK FOR PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the public employees retirement association for expenditure in fiscal years 2015 and 2016 for an actuarial study of return-to-work for public safety officers. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
B. Before performing the study, the public employees retirement association shall convene an advisory committee of public safety officers.
C. As used in this section, "public safety officer" means a state police or adult correctional officer member or a local police or fire member in a municipal police coverage plan, a municipal fire coverage plan or a municipal general coverage plan, as applicable, of the public employees retirement association.
