AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ENERGY, MINERALS AND NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT FOR ABANDONED URANIUM MINE RECLAMATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the energy, minerals and natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 for the mining and minerals division to reclaim abandoned uranium mines in the state that have been identified as priority sites based on prior assessments by the division. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
