A MEMORIAL
PROCLAIMING JANUARY 27, 2014 AS "CLAYTON YELLOWJACKETS DAY" IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, the Clayton yellowjackets won the first state football championship in school history against the Hatch valley bears on December 7, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the yellowjackets defeated the bears by a score of twenty-eight to six; and
WHEREAS, the championship game was played in Clayton under blizzard conditions, on a snow- and ice-covered field with wind chill temperatures below zero; and
WHEREAS, the yellowjackets ended the season with twelve wins and one loss;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the Clayton yellowjackets football team be recognized for its historic state championship title; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that January 27, 2014 be proclaimed "Clayton Yellowjackets Day" in the house of representatives; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the Clayton yellowjackets football coaches and team members.
