Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 342
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 7, line 8, strike "or".
2. On page 7, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new paragraph:
"(2) a health care practitioner licensed or certified by an independent board operating pursuant to Chapter 61 NMSA 1978 or a state regulatory body; provided that any medical imaging certification and examination program for health care practitioners established by an independent board or state regulatory body shall be submitted to the advisory council and approved by the board; or".
3. Renumber the succeeding paragraph accordingly.
4. On page 7, lines 17 and 18, strike "for the purpose of clinical decision-making".
5. On page 7, line 19, strike "ultrasound for any other purpose." and insert in lieu thereof "diagnostic ultrasound:
(a) that has been ordered by a licensed practitioner;
(b) that is performed pursuant to a national accrediting and credentialing body for the practice of ultrasound;
(c) that is performed to allow diagnosis by a radiologist or a similarly qualified practitioner; or
(d) pursuant to which a report is delivered to a referring practitioner.".
