AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE RESEARCH-BASED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS AND YOUTH AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred fifty thousand dollars ($850,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to provide research-based professional development and technical assistance to public school teachers and youth and family engagement opportunities to public school students and their families. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
