AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR LUNG CANCER RESEARCH.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the tobacco settlement program fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for the health sciences center for expenditure in fiscal year 2013 to conduct lung biology research focused on smoking studies, lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease drug development. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the tobacco settlement program fund.
