HOUSE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___2__ to HOUSE BILL 69, as amended

    1. Strike House Judiciary Committee Amendment 5.

    2. On page 9, line 16, strike "G" and insert in lieu thereof "E".

    3. On page 10, line 11, strike the ending quotation mark.

    4. On page 10, between lines 11 and 12, insert the following subsection:

         "O. By the end of each school year, each school shall report to the school district, by June 15 of each year, each school district or state-chartered charter school shall report to the department and by July 31 of each year, the department shall report to the legislative education study committee and the legislative finance committee:

              (1) the number of students who received interventions and remediation programs following a reading screening assessment;

             (2) the number of students who received an academic improvement plan for reading;

             (3) the number of students recommended for retention in each grade;

             (4) the number of students retained in each grade;

             (5) the number of students, by type of exemption, below the proficient level in reading who are exempted from retention pursuant to Subsection N of this section;

             (6) the cut scores used to determine grade-level reading proficiency on a standards-based assessment;

             (7) standards-based assessment score performance data for retained students; and

             (8) standards-based assessment score performance data, by type of exemption, for students below the proficient level in reading who are exempted from retention pursuant to Subsection N of this section."".
