Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE BILL 355, as amended
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. Strike House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee Amendments 3 through 7.
2. On page 1, line 16, strike "SCIENTIFICALLY BASED INSTRUCTIONAL".
3. On page 1, line 17, after the semicolon, strike the remainder of the line, strike line 18 and strike line 19 through the semicolon.
4. On page 1, line 25, strike "5" and insert in lieu thereof "4".
5. On page 2, line 16, after the semicolon, insert "and".
6. On page 2, line 20, after "statewide", insert "or a local".
7. On page 2, line 20, after "academy", insert a period and ending quotation marks, and strike the remainder of the line and strike lines 21 through 24.
8. On page 3, lines 10 and 11, strike "FOR PROGRAMS GROUNDED IN SCIENTIFICALLY BASED RESEARCH".
9. On page 4, line 25, after "statewide", insert "or a local".
10. On page 4, line 25, after "academy", strike the remainder of the line and strike page 5, line 1 up to the period.
11. On page 5, strike lines 4 through 7 and insert in lieu thereof:
"E. The department shall ensure that a local school board or governing body of a charter school is prioritizing resources of a public school rated D or F toward proven programs and methods linked to improved student".
12. On pages 5 through 7, strike Section 5 in its entirety.
13. Renumber the succeeding sections accordingly.
14. On page 7, strike lines 23 through 25 and insert in lieu thereof:
"(3) ensure that a local school board or governing body of a charter school is prioritizing resources of a public school rated D or F toward proven programs and methods that are linked to improved student".
15. On page 10, line 8, after "the", strike the remainder of the line, strike line 9 and insert in lieu thereof "department shall ensure that the local school board or governing body of a charter school is prioritizing resources for the public school toward proven programs and".
16. On page 10, line 10, after "methods", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 11 through "research".,
and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
