HOUSE BILL 355
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 3, line 17, after "rules", insert ", after input from the secretary's superintendents' council,".
2. On page 4, line 12, after the comma, insert "growth in high school graduation rates,".
3. On page 6, line 21, strike "teachers" and insert in lieu thereof "personnel".
4. On page 6, line 23, after "be", insert "awarded to public schools and".
5. On page 6, line 25, strike "merit".
6. On page 7, line 1, before the semicolon, insert "as determined by the public school staff and the school advisory council to encourage whole-school reform".
7. On page 7, line 24, after "resources", insert "of a public school rated D or F".
8. On page 8, line 1, before the period, insert "until the public school earns a grade of C or better for two consecutive years".
9. On page 10, between lines 12 and 13, insert the following new section:
"SECTION 8. SEVERABILITY.--If any part or application of this act is held invalid, the remainder or its application to other situations or persons shall not be affected.".,
and thence referred to the EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
