A MEMORIAL
PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 16, 2010 "SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DAY" AT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, each year, Santa Fe community college serves about fourteen thousand five hundred students from throughout
northern and central New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college offers a wide range
of educational and work force training programs to meet the needs of business, government and a diverse population; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college provides affordable, accessible opportunities that enhance the quality of life through academic, career and personal-enrichment programs; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Fe community college curricula
assist students of all ages and skill levels to acquire the
knowledge to ensure a successful future; and
WHEREAS, students at Santa Fe community college can pursue a variety of studies in fields ranging from culinary arts to human services, adult basic education to specialized work force training, design programs, teaching, nursing and a wide range of business degrees and continuing education; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college will soon open its new health and sciences building, which will provide opportunities for high-quality education in a variety of health care fields, and also the college is constructing a sustainable technologies center; and
WHEREAS, Santa Fe community college is experiencing unprecedented enrollment growth and success in this, its twenty-seventh year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 16, 2010 be proclaimed "Santa Fe Community College Day" at the house of representatives to honor and showcase the college, its many contributions and its commitment to students and community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be
transmitted to the president of Santa Fe community college.
