AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH THE DIRECT DESCENDANTS OF THE CANONCITO BAND.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for a genealogy project to assist in determining the descendants of the original Canoncito band. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
