AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR POWER LINE EXTENSIONS IN MCKINLEY AND SANDOVAL COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal years 2009 through 2013 for the extension of power lines in the checkerboard area of McKinley and Sandoval counties to serve indigent residents without power. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
