    Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 205, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. Strike Senate Corporations and Transportation Committee Amendment 3.

     2. Strike Senate Finance Committee Amendments 2 through 6.

     3. On page 5, line 11, strike "thirteen" and insert in lieu thereof "twelve".

     4. On page 5, lines 16 through 21, strike Paragraphs (1) and (2) and insert in lieu thereof the following paragraphs:

                "(1) the secretary of economic development;

                (2) the secretary of higher education;

                (3) the secretary of workforce solutions;

                (4) the chair of the New Mexico council of university presidents;

                (5) the governor's science advisor;

                (6) a member appointed by the governor, who shall be a director of a national laboratory located in New Mexico; and".

     5. Renumber the succeeding paragraph accordingly.

     6. On page 5, line 25, after "representatives", insert ", who shall represent the business community".

     7. On page 6, line 2, after "representatives", insert ", who shall represent local governments".

     8. On page 6, line 4, after "representatives", insert ", who shall be a president of a New Mexico post-secondary public educational institution".

     9. On page 6, line 6, after "senate", insert ", who shall have expertise in rural economic development".

     10. On page 6, line 8, after "senate", insert ", who shall have expertise in venture capital".

     11. On page 6, line 10, after "senate", insert ", who shall have expertise in health care".

     12. On page 6, line 11, strike "Members shall be appointed for" and insert in lieu thereof "The appointed members shall serve".

     13. On page 6, line 12, strike "three members" and insert in lieu thereof "the member".

     14. On page 6, line 18, after "E.", insert "The governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, shall appoint one of the members as chair of the board.".

     15. On page 6, line 18, after "alternate", insert "from within their organization or area of expertise".
