AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC OUTREACH AND STATEWIDE EDUCATION ABOUT THE USS NEW MEXICO, THE NAVY'S NEWEST SUBMARINE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of military affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to promote public outreach and statewide education about the newest United States navy submarine, the USS New Mexico, that was christened in mid-December 2008 and will be commissioned in October 2009. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
