AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO GOVERNMENT EDUCATION FUND.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico government education fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 and subsequent fiscal years to contract for annual weeklong high school civics courses focusing on New Mexico state government for boys and girls to be held at varying post-secondary educational institutions in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
