AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND SEXUAL ASSAULT NURSE EXAMINER SERVICES IN ALBUQUERQUE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two hundred fifty-one thousand dollars ($251,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health to contract with a not-for-profit organization in Albuquerque providing sexual assault nurse examiners for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 as follows:

                (1) thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) to pay nurses for on-call duty; and

                (2) two hundred sixteen thousand dollars ($216,000) to provide medical forensic examinations to victims of domestic violence.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
