AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE STATEWIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the statewide technical assistance center to develop programs, provide guidance to New Mexico schools and extend the public education department's capacity to help school districts achieve adequate yearly progress. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
