AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE MARIACHI AND BALLET FOLKLORICO PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the higher education department to provide mariachi and ballet folklorico instruction, create and tour a mariachi hall of fame and enhance the university of New Mexico's mariachi program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
