AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A REGIONAL TRANSIT CALL CENTER COVERING NINE COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the state's mid-region regional transit district to establish a technical plan for a regional transit call center so that a customer can learn with a single phone call about routes and connections for the New Mexico Rail Runner express, New Mexico department of transportation park-and-ride services and related transportation services in any of nine counties from Socorro to the Colorado state line. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
