    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 242

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 12, strike "RECEIVE DONATIONS OF" and insert in lieu thereof "OWN AND HOLD TITLE TO".

    2. On page 1, line 13, after "MEXICO", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 14 and 15 in their entirety and strike line 16 up to the period.

    3. On page 4, strike lines 11 through 21 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof:

             "(2) acquire by purchase, gift, endowment or legacy real or personal property and hold title to that property in the name of the department for the purpose of promoting, encouraging and supporting the performing arts in New Mexico. Property acquired pursuant to this paragraph shall be held under the control and authority of the cultural affairs department.".

    4. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
