AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE TRAINING ON SUPERCOMPUTERS FOR SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS TO MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TO STRENGTHEN TEACHING TECHNIQUES IN THOSE DISCIPLINES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for a statewide program to provide training on supercomputers for middle school and high school students in science, mathematics, engineering and technology applications and to strengthen teaching techniques in science, mathematics, engineering and technology. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
