AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES STATEWIDE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to contract with domestic violence programs statewide to provide shelter care, child and adolescent counseling, family counseling and crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence and their children. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
