AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS FOR BLACK STUDENTS IN THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to increase access for students in black student organizations in the Albuquerque public school district to access programs that improve test scores, study skills, graduation rates and post-secondary success. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
