AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES AND STAFF RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION AT INTERMEDIATE-CARE FACILITIES FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred seventeen thousand dollars ($217,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for operational expenses and to improve staff recruitment and retention at intermediate-care facilities for the mentally retarded. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
