AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPLEMENT A COMMUNITY BICYCLE PROGRAM TO RESTORE AND REPAIR DONATED USED BICYCLES FOR NEEDY CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN ALBUQUERQUE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to contract with a community organization that serves the west central metropolitan redevelopment area in the city of Albuquerque to implement a community bicycle program to restore and repair donated used bicycles for needy children and families to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
