AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR

NON-NATIVE PHREATOPHYTE REMOVAL AND RIPARIAN RESTORATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 and subsequent fiscal years for the New Mexico department of agriculture to manage and administer non-native phreatophyte removal and riparian restoration projects conducted by soil and water conservation districts according to the non-native phreatophyte/watershed management plan program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
