AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR ADDITIONAL PATROLMAN AND TRANSPORTATION INSPECTOR POSITIONS IN THE MOTOR TRANSPORTATION DIVISION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million one hundred fifty-seven thousand dollars ($2,157,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to fund seven additional patrolman positions and eighteen additional transportation inspector positions. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
