AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR THE AFRICANA STUDIES FACULTY INITIATIVE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred ninety-two thousand one hundred fifty dollars ($392,150) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the Africana studies faculty initiative. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
