AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR LEARNING ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH EXITING DETENTION FACILITIES IN DONA ANA COUNTY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to provide learning enrichment, academic support and counseling in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for youth leaving detention facilities with communication disorders, learning disabilities, dyslexia or speech and language difficulties to help the youth's transition back into public or vocational school or college. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
