A RESOLUTION
ADOPTING A HOUSE RULE TO PROHIBIT HOUSE MEMBERS FROM
PARTICIPATING IN CLOSED CONFERENCE COMMITTEE MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, the house of representatives may adopt rules by a
majority vote of the members of the house upon the
recommendation of the rules and order of business committee and
at all times by a two-thirds' vote of all members of the house;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that a new House
Rule 9-5-7 be adopted to read:
"9-5-7
Members of the house shall not participate in a
meeting of a conference committee that is closed to
the public. Members appointed to a conference
committee shall notify the chief clerk of the time
and place the conference committee is scheduled to
