AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRAUMA SYSTEM STRATEGIC PRIORITIES STATEWIDE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven million seven hundred thousand dollars ($7,700,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years to support the state's trauma system priorities, including developing new centers to create an inclusive network, integrating rehabilitation facilities into the trauma system, enhancing trauma education, building capacity for a competent workforce for trauma facilities and improving funding for the trauma system. The support will sustain existing trauma centers and support developing trauma centers and trauma system development projects. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
