AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE NEW MEXICO INSTITUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR STATEWIDE AQUIFER MAPPING AND CHARACTERIZATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 and subsequent fiscal years for the bureau of geology and mineral resources to conduct statewide aquifer mapping and characterization. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
