AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred fifty thousand dollars ($550,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 for operating expenses of the soil and water conservation commission and for management of soil and water conservation districts and operation of district programs and projects pursuant to Sections 73-20-25 through 73-20-48 NMSA 1978. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
