AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE INTERCOLLEGIATE RODEO ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. One hundred thirty-four thousand three hundred eighty-three dollars ($134,383) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2008 to fund the intercollegiate rodeo athletic program. Funds shall be used in the following amounts:

                (1) ninety-one thousand seven hundred seventy-five dollars ($91,775) for annual costs for the competition, including entry fees, mileage, insurance, room and board and competition clothing; and  

                (2) forty-two thousand six hundred eight dollars ($42,608) for supplies for livestock used in training.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2008 shall revert to the general fund.
